Volynsky, Artemy Stepanovich

Artemy Stepanovich Volynsky ( 1627 - 1684 ) - patriarchal steward and governor of the noble family of Volynsky . It was first mentioned in 1640 at the reception of the Persian ambassador, in 1643 he accompanied the Danish prince Waldemar who arrived in Russia. In the same year he spent the night and slept at the tombs of Tsarevichs Ivan Mikhailovich and Vasily Mikhailovich .

In 1645 he was appointed governor in Toropets and Velikiye Luki , and later served on the Zasechnaya line in Belgorod at the governor of the great regiment of Prince Nikita Odoevsky . Present at the capture of Smolensk in 1654 .

He died in 1684, was buried in the Miracle Monastery . Father of solicitor and Kazan governor Pyotr Artemyevich Volynsky , grandfather of Anninsky cabinet minister Artemy Petrovich Volynsky
