Andrei Viktorovich Gerasimov (born , ) is a Russian artist , member of the Union of Artists of Russia , Honored Artist of the Russian Federation . Honorary resident of the city of Aleksin, Tula region .

Biography
Andrei Viktorovich Gerasimov was born in 1962 in the city of Slobodsky, Kirov Region. In 1981 he graduated from the Kirov Art College , now the Vyatka Art College. A.A. Rylova. In 1987 he graduated with honors from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov (workshop of Professor I.S. Glazunov ).
1987-1988 - Service in the aviation forces of the Soviet Army .
In 1992-1997 Trained in the Creative workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts with the People's artists of the USSR , Academicians A.P. and S.P. Tkachev . In 1997, he was awarded the Diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts for a series of paintings (“Well in the Forest”, “Village Pond”, “After the Rain”, “Autumn on the Oka”).
In 1999, a documentary was shot about the life and work of A. V. Gerasimov, "At the Break of Beauty." The film was shown on central television, on the channel "Culture" [1] .
The creativity of I.I. Shishkin , whose diaries he purposefully studied at the Academy, had a great influence on the formation of Andrei Gerasimov as a painter.
Personal exhibitions of the artist Andrei Gerasimov took place at the Central Exhibition Hall “Manege” (1999) and in the Moscow Kremlin (2005), he is a participant in the major exhibition “60 Years of Victory” in the Central House of Artists .
The publishing house "White City" in 2004 released the book-album "Andrei Gerasimov. Russian landscape ”, dedicated to the work of the artist [2] .
The work of Andrei Gerasimov is highly appreciated not only by his colleagues, contemporary landscape painters , but also by famous cultural figures. Filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov , who visited Gerasimov’s exhibition, spoke of him as an incomparable creator of masterpieces with Central Russian motifs [3] [4] . President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin , stopping at one of the artist’s paintings, asked: “Where is such a beauty?” [5] .
In 2006 he was awarded the UNESCO Medal.
From 2012 to 2015, Beijing hosted a permanent exhibition of the artist's works in the Jing-I-Yuan Gallery.
Andrei Viktorovich Gerasimov, member of the Union of Artists of Russia , Honored Artist of Russia, was awarded the title “Honorary Resident of the City of Aleksin” [6] .
Lives and works in Moscow .
