Biography

As a child, the Wallace family lived in the arid region of Bahia. Wallace himself slept on a bed of stones, and the mattress was stuffed with ordinary leaves. As a child, he suffered from pneumonia for three winters in a row and, in his own words, miraculously survived. In the end, the family moved to Rio de Janeiro, where Wallace's father got a job at a gas station. At the age of 10, Wallace began to play in local futsal teams and at one of the tournaments the scouts of Vitoria paid attention to the player.

Wallace is a graduate of Vitoria Club from Salvador. He made his debut in the main team (then playing in Series C Brazil ) back in 2006, but then before the end of 2007 he played for the youth team. Since 2009, Wallace has become an almost indispensable player in the base of Vitoria, with which he won a total of 4 Bahia champion titles. After the departure of Vitoria from Serie A at the end of 2010 (where the team managed to rise during Wallace's appearances for her), the leading Brazilian clubs began to fight for the defender and in the end it was announced that Wallace would sign a contract with Corinthians.

In “Timao” in 2011-2012, Wallace basically played the role of a backup player, who at any time can strengthen the defense at the end of the match when it is necessary to keep the winning score. So, of the 9 matches played by Wallace in the Paulista League 2011, in the starting lineup he came out only once. Similarly, of the 16 matches of the Brazilian championship in 2011, Wallace came out in only half the cases. Together with the team, the footballer became the champion of Brazil.

Wallace began the year 2012 with a base player, but in early March he tore the ligaments of the ankle joint and dropped out for two months [1] . Wallace missed the entire group stage and a significant part of the playoffs of the 2012 Libertadores Cup, but managed to recover to the semifinals. So, he made his debut in the tournament, replacing Alex Meskini instead of in the tenth added minute of the guest match against Santos in the first semifinal. This victory (1: 0) made a reserve for the release of Corinthians in the tournament finals. Already in the final, Wallace in both meetings with Boka Juniors twice replaced in 92 minutes, in full accordance with the tactics of coach Tite . Corinthians won a major South American trophy for the first time in history.

In Series A 2012, Wallace played 22 matches, including 12 in the starting lineup. On November 24, Wallace scored his first goal for Timao - at the goal of Santos. In December 2012, Wallace replaced Emerson Sheikh in the 91st minute in the final of the Club World Cup, in which Corinthians beat Chelsea 1-0.

On January 17, 2013, Wallace signed a 4-year contract with Flamengo [2] . In 2016, Wallace Reis played for Gremio.

Wallace married at the age of 16 - his bride Jessica at that time was 17 years old. They have a son, Lucas.
