Life Story
Before initiation into the patriarchal dignity, Stephen was the Metropolitan of Amasia .
On June 29, 925, Emperor Roman I Lacapinus was proclaimed the Patriarch of Constantinople.
On 8 October 927, Stephen II took part in the conclusion of a peace agreement with Bulgaria , which was sealed by the marriage union of Mary, the daughter of Emperor Christopher Lacapin , and Tsar Peter I. The blessing took place in the temple of the Most Holy Theotokos.
Patriarch Stephen II died on July 15, 928.
