Biography
He graduated from MGIMO- USSR Foreign Ministry (1971) and the Diplomatic Academy of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1979).
At diplomatic work since 1971.
- In 1988-1989 - Head of the sector of the Second African Division, head of the department of the Office of African Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
- In 1990-1993 - Advisor and Envoy of the Embassy of the USSR, Russia in Ethiopia .
- April 29, 1993 - May 16, 1997 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Madagascar [1] [2] .
- December 28, 1993 - May 16, 1997 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Comoros concurrently [3] [2] .
- In 1997-1999 - Head of the Working Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the Caspian Sea , Ambassador on Special Assignments.
- December 31, 1999 - July 2, 2003 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan [4] [5] .
- August 2003 - July 2010 - Ambassador on special missions, one of the three co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorno-Karabakh settlement .
