- This match became known as “ Bloodgate ”. British coach Dean Richards received a three-year suspension as a result of the incident. The fact is that when a player has blood, an extraordinary replacement is allowed. Richards also staged the appearance of blood in a player Tom Williams. Williams was punished for a year, but his cooperation with the investigation was considered as a mitigating circumstance, and the period of disqualification was reduced to four months. [3]
