National Opera Theater (Taganrog)

The National Opera Theater is an amateur group that existed at the Taganrog Palace of Culture of the combine plant from 1958 to 1982 .

History

For the first time the national opera house in Taganrog was created in 1923 on the basis of a musical technical school by teachers I. F. Changli-Chaikin , O. I. Dontsova and E. S. Vodolaga [1] . In 1924, the opera “ Carmen ” by Georges Bizet was staged, in 1927 - “ Faust ” by Charles Gounod [1] .

In 1947, on the basis of the Taganrog House of Teacher, pianist and vocalist Ivan Fedorovich Changli-Chaikin established an amateur group of gifted singers and his students: A. Agureeva, T. Pokatilo, N. Petrova, J. Khlebnikova, I. Khlebnikov, A. Larin , E. Manyukhin, F. Novikov, I. Filippov, A. Vorobyov, A. Gevorkova, A. Gladkov and others [1] . The artists worked on scenes and arias from the operas “The Demon ” by A. G. Rubinstein , “ Aida ” by D. Verdi , “ Mazepa ” by P. I. Tchaikovsky and others [1] .

In 1958, the team headed by Changli-Chaikin was invited by the leadership of the Palace of Culture of the combine plant to prepare and stage full-scale operas [1] . For the staging of the opera by P.I. Tchaikovsky “ Eugene Onegin ”, the amateur DK Opera House in 1959 received the title of “People’s” [2] .

In 1965, 150 artists, choir, ballet, attendants, toured in Moscow and gave 3 performances: in the Kremlin Palace , in the Palace of Culture of the Plant. Likhachev and the Central House of Culture of Railwaymen [1] .

The theater existed until 1982 .
