University of Tor Vergata [1] ( Italian: Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata ) - is an Italian state university. In Rome, it is the second state university in chronological order of foundation [2] and the third in the number of students.

The university is designed after the Anglo-Saxon campuses and covers an area of 500 hectares.
Content
History
The university was created as the second state university of Rome, according to Law 771 of November 22, 1972, which also sets out the first organizational regimes of the university campus.
In 1980, the university began buying its first habitat. It was a large motel in the Romanina area overlooking the Big Ring Bridge, the seat of the administration and the faculty of law until February 28, 2018. The same building was resold by the university in 2006 to finance the construction of a new campus. According to the decree of March 1, 2018 [3] and May 22, 2018 [4] , the legal address, administration and law faculty moved to the new complex [5] , located on Krakow Street 50.
Educational activity began in 1982 [6] , when the educational process of engineering, law, medical, scientific and humanitarian faculties began. In 1987, the Faculty of Economics was established.
Since 1981, the university has acquired a prestigious representation - Villa Mondragone [7] , one of the most beautiful, so-called “Tuscan hills” villas located on the territory of Monte Porzio Catone.
In 2006, the university received a donation of about 100 million euros from the spouses Sebastian and Rita Raeli, the owners of a network of Roman hotels, which each year finance 300 scholarships of 5000 euros for the best graduates of the university. This is the most visible donation to a university institution in Italy by private individuals. [eight]
