Ping-Pong Club ( 行 け! 稲 中 卓 球 部 Ike! Inatyu takkyu-bu , Forward! Inaho High School Ping-Pong Section) is a Japanese manga authored by Monoru Furuya. In 1996, the manga received the Kodansya Award as the best manga of a general theme. [1] A total of 13 volumes have been issued.

Based on the plot of the manga, Grouper Productions released an anime series, which was broadcast on TBS from April 6 to September 28, 1995 . The series was licensed by Central Park Media to run in the United States . In total, 26 anime episodes have been released. Each series lasting 25 minutes is divided into 2 stories of 12-14 minutes. The series was later released in the USA in 5 DVD editions. [2]
Content
Story
The action takes place around students who are members of the club section of the ping-pong school. They have to fight together to preserve the club team, take part in competitions and most importantly do not lose a single member, because if there are less than 6 people left in the club, then according to school laws the club will be disbanded.
Characters
- Maeno
- Seiyu: Kosuke Okano
- The leader of the ping pong club. He has a strange manner of communicating through the “rear”, which he is very proud of. He believes that his behavior will attract girls in this way, oddly enough, attract.
- Hiromi Izawa
- Seiyu: Takumi Yamazaki
- Member of the ping-pong club. He has a strange hairstyle, because of which he often becomes the object of ridicule. He is a very kind and caring person, lives according to the laws of chivalry, and despite this is sexually preoccupied. He loves boxing and wears a hairstyle that repeats the style of Joe Yabuki from the popular series Ashita no Joe . Hiromi and Maeno constantly play games in which Izawa always acts as a woman. Maeno's best friend and has a strange relationship with him, closer to love.

- Member of the ping-pong club. In love with a girl named Kiyoko. In one of the anime series, he caresses her breasts all the time, while Izawa, Maeno and Tanaka are hiding naked in a locker.

- Member of the ping-pong club. He is the most popular guy at school and constantly escapes from the crowd of girls. In one episode, Maeno and Izawa dress him up as a girl and Tanaka begins to pester him.
- Tanaka
- Seiyu: Yasuhiro Takato
- Member of the ping-pong club. The lowest of all the main characters. Due to his very slender and weak physique, many take him for a girl. He is sexually preoccupied and always appeals to girls as if he were their “mother”.
- Mitchell Goro Tanabe
- Seiyu: Masato Amada
- Half American and Japanese. Has blond hair and blue eyes. When he sees a friend in need, he always seeks to help. Very kind and vulnerable. It has big problems with the smell, which is beaten off only by the pool or disinfectant.
- Kyoko Iwashita
- Seiyu: Sakura Uehara
- Working tirelessly, she got the position of club manager, because the headmaster hoped that this would help her avoid trouble. She barely tolerates the tricks of teenage boys constantly trying to get into her panties. In the episode "Burning Spirit", she proves that she is incredibly motivational when she offers the best player to do with her body whatever he wants for a month. The offer helps the mediocre team below to reach the final of the city.

- Seiyu: Nanami Kurosaki
- Shy girl in love with Kinoshita. Tries to improve his ping pong skills to attract his attention. But her mistake is that she asks for help to teach her to play Izawa, and her dream is to find a girl who will obey his every word, so that he cannot resist using his position as a “teacher”.
