Career
From 1986 to 1991 he played for the Argentinean Estudiantes from La Plata , and then from 1992 to 1993 for Liverpool (Montevideo). In 1994 he moved to Kolo-Kolo. He later became a player of the Independiente. The most successful period in Barbate’s career was playing at America Cali Club. From 2000 to 2002, he won 3 Colombian championships.
In 2003, Barbat returned to Uruguay. After playing for Danubio, he moved to Espanyol. He ended his career at Juventude from Las Piedras .
He made his debut on April 30, 1992 [1] . He played at the America's Cup in 1991 and 2004.
