Until 2015, the canton consisted of communes:

As a result of the reform of 2015 [1], the composition of the canton was changed. It includes the abolished canton of Comble and Ruazel .

Policy
In the presidential election of 2017, the inhabitants of the canton gave Marine Le Pen in the 1st round 36.8% of the vote against 17.8% for Emmanuel Macron , 17.1% for François Fillon and 16.6% for Jean-Luc Melenchon ; in the 2nd round in the canton, Le Pen won, receiving 54.3% of the vote. (2012 Round 1: Marine Le Pen - 27.8%, Francois Hollande - 25.8%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 24.0%; Round 2: Hollande - 54.3%).
Since 2015, the canton in the Council of the Somme department is represented by the vice-mayor of Peronne Philippe Varlet ( Republicans ) and the mayor of Viller-Faucon Severin Mordak (Séverine Mordacq) ( Union of Democrats and Independent ).
