Geography
The area of ββthe okrug is 2 232.3 kmΒ². In the north it borders with Pasaman and West Pasaman counties, in the south with Padang-Pariaman and Tanah-Datar counties, in the east - with Lima-Pulukh-Kota district, in the west it is washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean . Inside the county is the municipality of Bukittingi .
Population
According to the 2010 census , 454 853 people lived in the district [1] . Representatives of the Minangkabau nationality predominate in the national composition, Javanese and Batak are also represented.

The territory of Agam County is divided into 16 districts ( kecamatan ), which in turn are divided into 82 rural settlements ( kelurahan ).
