Emblem Description
The shield is divided perpendicularly into two parts, of which in the right field in the silver field is half visible a black eagle with a gold crown on its head, having a golden nose and claws; on the left side in a blue field, a hand in armor coming out of a cloud clad with a sword (Polish coat of arms Malaya Pogonya ).
The shield shows a noble crown with a noble helmet on it, on the sides of which are two black open eagle wings and between them a red heart with a flame. The mark on the shield is blue, lined with silver. The coat of arms of the Zherebtsov clan is included in Part 2 of the General Armorial of the noble clans of the All-Russian Empire, p. 40.
Relations between the Stallions and the Orthodox Church
The owners of the village of Kikino, Alexei Grigorievich and his son Alexander Alekseevich Zherebtsov, donated a lot to the church . In particular, at their expense a stone church was built in the name of St. Michael the Archangel , whose ruins have survived to this day [10] . Their descendant, Major General Alexander Alexandrovich Zherebtsov, despite the high degrees of initiation in Freemasonry, continued to follow the religious traditions of his ancestors and gave five serfs and a small piece of land to the Kikin parish priest, Chrysander Rykalov, whom he especially favored [8] . Nevertheless, church officials had a very negative attitude towards the Masons and, wanting to denigrate them at any cost, they sometimes resorted to a clear distortion of the facts. In particular, Archimandrite Photius (Spassky) claimed that the Stallions committed suicide allegedly as a result of the harmful influence of Freemasonry [11] . What could not be in reality, since he was buried in 1832 near the Hodegetria Church on the territory of the John the Baptist Monastery in Vyazma , while in Orthodoxy, suicides are always buried behind the church fence as serious sinners [12] .
Comments
- ↑ The Zherebtsovs submitted documents for introducing the genus into the Velvet Book on January 4, 1686, providing their pedigree list . In this case, a lawsuit arose with the Plescheev family , coming from one of the ancestors , who accused them of incorrect pedigree painting [3]
