Career

Pisano started playing football at home. He spent several seasons in the Uruguay Championship for Penarol . In 1937, a Uruguayan arrived in Italy, where he became a player in the Liguria team. Cecilio made his debut in Serie A on September 19 of the same year in a game against Roma (1: 1 final score) [1] . In total, in his first season, he played 3 matches in the Italian championship. Season 1938/39 Pisano was rented to Sanremese from Serie B. Returning from the lease, he continued performances for the "Liguria". At the end of the 1939/40 season, the team from Genoa took the last place in Serie A and flew into the second league of the country. However, the Uruguayan footballer remained in the team and helped her in the 1940/41 season to take the first line in the Serie B table, which meant a return to the top division. Cecilio Pisano ended his playing career in 1944. At that time, he had 121 matches in Liguria (4 goals).

After retirement

During the Second World War, Pisano became friends with the SS Colonel, they soon became close friends. During the occupation, Cecillo received the post of consul of Uruguay in Genoa, and an anti-fascist hunt began on him. Cars began to drive around the city, from which calls were made to provide information on its location [2] . In 1945, the former footballer was found by partisans in one of the districts of the city and on April 25th he was brought in for questioning. According to one source, Pisano committed suicide by throwing himself out of the window of a building on Victory Square during interrogation [3] . According to other sources, Pisano was dropped down when he was already dead [2] .
