Zakhar Davidovich Davydov (born May 30, 1945 , Kiev ) is a Soviet, Israeli and Canadian literary historian, Ph.D. ( 1995 ), professor ( 1999 ), editor-in-chief of the Slavic scientific journal Toronto Slavic Quarterly (since 2002 ).

Biography
Zakhar Davydov was born on May 30, 1945 in Kiev. In 1969, Zakhar Davidovich graduated from the Kiev Civil Engineering Institute , worked in his specialty, while simultaneously studying the life and work of Maximilian Voloshin (since 1977). In the USSR, he participated in the preparation and publication of several books of the creative heritage of M. A. Voloshin.
In 1991 - repatriated to Israel . Upon arrival in Israel, he was invited to doctoral studies at the Department of Slavic Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Thesis: “Biography of M. A. Voloshin. The early period of life and work ”( 1995 ). Member of the Union of Israeli Writers ( 1994 ). He worked at the Department of Slavic Studies at the University of Lyon-3 (1997). Since 1999 he has been teaching at Upper Canada College and at the Department of Slavic Studies at the University of Toronto . The collection of Z. D. Davydov “Everything about Voloshin”, including autographs, watercolors, lifetime editions of the poet and artist, was exhibited at the Museum of Kiev, the Kiev Literary Museum, the libraries of Lyon and Toronto [1] .

The main works are devoted to Russian literature of the late IX beginning of the XX century, the life and work of Maximilian Voloshin.
