Biography
Born in 1906 in the village of Proleyka (now Volgograd region).
He graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute named after M.I. Kalinina
From 1935 to 1940 he went from designer to head of design bureaus of pilot plant No. 185 in Leningrad , where he participated in the creation of the first Soviet tanks with anti-ballistic armor, as well as heavy self-propelled guns SU-14 .
Since 1941 - Deputy Chief Designer of the combined plants No. 185 and No. 174 , where, under his leadership, the T-50 light tank was developed and put into production.
Since 1942 - Deputy Chief Designer of Plant No. 174, evacuated to Omsk , where under his leadership the mass production of T-34-76 tanks was organized.
From 1946 to December 1954 , he was the chief designer of the plant No. 174 in Omsk , where he put the T-54 tank for serial production, and also led the development of self-propelled guns SU-122 and ZSU-57-2 based on the T-54 tank and the BTS-2 tractor .
Since 1956 , as deputy chief designer of the plant No. 183 in Nizhny Tagil, he took a direct part in the creation of the T-62 tank and the IT-1 tank destroyer.
Since 1962 - Deputy Head of the Department of VNIITransmash .
