Erosi Kitsmarishvili ( Georgian ეროსი კიწმარიშვილი ; 1965 , Rustavi , Georgian SSR - July 15, 2014 , Tbilisi , Georgia ) - Georgian politician, until May 2012 - one of the leaders of the opposition “Georgian Party”, former Georgian ambassador to Russia (2008), in the past - President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia (2004), entrepreneur, founder and owner of the Rustavi-2 TV channel.

Biography

Erosi (Eros) Kitsmarishvili was born in 1965 in the city of Rustavi, Georgian SSR.

In 1993, Kitsmarishvili became the founder of the Rustavi-2 television company

In 2004, Kitsmarishvili became president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia. At the same time, he remained the owner of Rustavi-2.

In 2005, Kitsmarishvili was forced to sell the shares of Rustavi-2 to one of the closest associates of the ex-Minister of Defense of Georgia, Irakli Okruashvili , businessman Kibar Halvashi.

In 2005, Kitsmarishvili left for the United States of America , where he tried to organize his own business (in his own words, “he was mainly engaged in promoting Georgian goods on the American market”). During this period, he was also Georgia’s special envoy in New York.

In February 2008, Kitsmarishvili was appointed to the post of Georgian Ambassador to Russia, replacing Irakli Chubinishvili at this post ( Saakashvili himself proposed Kitsmarishvili).

On July 15, 2014, news agencies reported that Kitsmarishvili was found dead in a car near his home in Tbilisi, and a pistol was found next to the corpse.

He was buried at the Saburtalinsky cemetery [1] .
