Biography

Came from the nobles of the Voronezh province . Born on March 9, 1789 in the village of Hvoshchevatom of the Zemlyansky district . Studied at home. On February 12, 1807, together with his brother Nikolai Petrovich, he entered the Life Guards of the Izmaylovsky Regiment with the rank of ensign. In the same year, together with his regiment, made a campaign in Prussia against the French and fought near Friedland. On March 27, 1808, he was promoted to warrant officer, on February 11, 1810 to warrant officer, on December 9, 1811 he was promoted to lieutenant.

From March 7, 1812, he was on a campaign near Vilna , and then during the retreat of the Russian army to Borodin. In the Battle of Borodino, he participated in all the attacks of his regiment, showed excellent courage and was wounded by buckshot in his left hand. The wound was so serious that it had to be amputated to the elbow. At the same time, his younger brother Yegor Petrovich, who was going to battle next to him, was killed before his eyes. For the courage shown near Borodin, Severov was awarded a golden sword with an inscription for courage and promoted to lieutenant, and on April 15, 1816 he was promoted to headquarters captain. On November 27 of the same year, by the Highest Order, he was promoted to captain, with the determination of the Page Corps .

On December 19, 1817, he retired for his wounds with the rank of lieutenant colonel. After his father was struck by paralysis, Severtsov worked diligently on his estates. In 1831-1834 he was the Zemlyansky district leader of the nobility. Died April 11, 1871

On April 11, at 5 a.m., one of the veterans of 1812, Colonel Alexei Petrovich Severtsev, died on his estate. The deceased participated in the campaign of the memorable 1812 and was in several battles, in one of which his arm was torn off. A.P. was distinguished by the directness and honesty of the soul, high education, and at the same time was a kind family man. Having descended to the grave, he left many good memories. [1] .
