Kalangala is a county in the central region of Uganda . As of 2010, 54 100 people live in the okrug [1] . The area of the territory is 9068.3 km². The county is located on the Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria . In the north it borders with the district of Mpigi . The basis of the economy of the district is agriculture, fishing and tourism. From 1125 to 2250 millimeters of precipitation falls annually.
