Origin
Mika Karppinen was born on February 8, 1971 in the city of Eskilstuna , Sweden . His cousin, Harry Mantoux, played rhythm guitar in the Swedish band Kent . Karppinen himself began his musical career in Finland , becoming the drummer of Valvontakomissio. On August 30, 2008, in the Finnish church of Temppeliaukio , he married his girlfriend Natalin, who gave birth to his daughter on January 16, 2009 [1] .
Musical career
From 1991 to 1994, he was a drummer in the band Valvontakomissio, from 1994 to 1995, he was the guitarist and lyricist of the group Dementia. Short time was the drummer of Dischange. From 1994 to 1998, he played drums and wrote lyrics in the heavy metal band Kyyria. In 1999 he replaced HIM drummer Johan Rantalu, has been working with the team since the second studio album. Since 2002, in parallel with HIM, he has been participating in the Bendover project, since 2003 - in Ääritila, since 2004 - in To Separate the Flesh from the Bones. In January 2015, he left the HIM group. Since 2016 he is a member of the doom metal band Hallatar.

Gus Lipstick is one of the few left-handed drummers. He plays a drum kit made by Tama Drums with Paiste cymbals . Prefers Vic Firth drumsticks . During the tour he uses a bass drum decorated with the HIM symbol - the hartagram .
