Separate Commander :
- the military rank of servicemen of the junior command and junior commanding staff of the Red Army (including the Navy of the Red Army , after December 30 , 1937 - the Navy of the USSR ) and the troops of the NKVD of the USSR (including the NKVD marines ) sometimes used in a similar context). Introduced by Decrees of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR No. 19 and SNK of the USSR No. 2135 dated September 22, 1935 , [1] as well as Resolution SNK of the USSR No. 2250 dated October 7, 1935 [2] .
By orders of the NPO No. 391 of November 2, 1940 and the NKVD of the USSR No. 1038 of November 18, 1940 , [3] as well as by Decree of the Council of People 's Commissars of the USSR No. 2435 of November 30, 1940 [4] , a new commander was introduced instead of the military rank: sergeant - for the Red Army and the NKVD troops, and the foreman of the 1st article - for the naval personnel and the marine border guard of the NKVD of the USSR . - special rank of employees of the junior commanding officers of the militia of the NKVD of the USSR in the period 1936-1943 . Introduced for the personnel of the Workers 'and Peasants' Police by a joint resolution of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of April 26, 1936 [5] . The subordinate special rank is the senior policeman , the next in rank - pomkomvzvoda or foreman .
By a decree of the Presidium of the USSR Armed Forces of February 9, 1943, instead of a special rank, the separated commander introduced a new one - the senior police sergeant .

As a rule, the full-time post in the USSR Armed Forces for the military personnel with the rank of separated commander was the post of commander of the department ( light tank , armored car , guns , machine gun crew , etc.). Also, in exceptional cases, the rank of separated commander could be conferred upon discharge into the reserve by the most distinguished conscripts who have a rank one rank lower, but who occupy the full-time position of the squad leader or her equal.
To the military rank of a citizen in reserve or in retirement, the words “reserve” or “retired” were respectively added.
In the armed forces (AF) of most states and countries of the world, the separated military commander conditionally corresponded to the rank of " sergeant " ( English Sergeant ), and in the German armed forces - the title of " non-commissioned officer " ( German Unteroffizier ).
