Biography
Born in the city of Amafunt in Cyprus . He was raised by his parents in Christian piety and trained to read the Holy Books. He was accepted into the church clergy, put a reader. Later, the Bishop of Amafunt Memnon consecrated him to the rank of deacon. After the death of Bishop Memnon, St. Tikhon, by common will, was elected Bishop of Amafuntsky. Actively planted Christianity. Life says that St. Tikhon worked hard to eradicate the remnants of paganism in Cyprus, destroyed idol-worshipers, was merciful, the doors of his house were open to everyone, he listened with love and fulfilled the requests of everyone who came to him, firmly and fearlessly professed his faith before pagans. He foresaw the time of his demise, which followed in 425.
