Vladimir Vladimirovich Selkov (born April 1, 1971 , Berezniki ) is a Soviet and Russian swimmer who specialized in back swimming . Three-time Olympic silver medalist, 1994 world champion, multiple European champion. Multiple winner and medalist of the championships of Russia.

He began to train under the leadership of Anatoly Ivanovich Zhuchkov and Viktor Borisovich Avdienko [1] , then he studied with Natalya Vladimirovna Trotsevich.
The first international success was the third place in the 200m backstroke at the 1991 World Aquatics Championships in Perth (Vladimir gave this bronze medal to photographing to the Volgograd sports club, and it was not returned). At the same 200-meter distance he won the silver medal of the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona (in the final, Selkov lost 0.40 seconds to Spaniard Martin Lopez-Subero , who won with an Olympic record of 1: 58.47), he received the second silver medal at the same Games in the combined relay 4 to 100 meters. As part of the relay team, he repeated this success at the 1996 Olympics . Selkov also claimed to be included in the USSR national team for the 1988 Olympic Games and in the Russian national team for the 2000 Games, but for various reasons was not included in the team’s final application.
