In 1780, Krasnoborsk became the county town of the Krasnoborsky district of the Vologda governorate , since 1796 - a non - staff city , Solvychegodsky district of the Vologda province . Since 2006, the village of Krasnoborsk has been the administrative center of the Alekseevsky rural settlement .

Description and history of the coat of arms
The emblem of Krasnoborsk was highly approved on October 2, 1780 by Empress Catherine II, together with other emblems of the cities of the Vologda governorate (PSZ, 1780, Law No. 15069). [1] [2]
The description of the coat of arms of Krasnoborsk read:
“Two red pine flowers, in a silver field. In the upper part of the shield is the coat of arms of Vologda :“ In the red shield there is a hand emerging from the cloud holding a golden power with a silver sword. ”
In May 2011, by the decision of the Assembly of Deputies of the Krasnoborsky District municipality, the coat of arms of the Krasnoborsky District was created, based on the historical coat of arms of Krasnoborsk in 1780. The coat of arms of the district has the following description: “In a dissected scarlet and silver field at a narrow extremity there are two pine trees, all of varying colors.”
