Kalanchoe Blossfelda [2] ( Latin Kalanchoe blossfeldiana ) is a perennial herbaceous succulent flowering plant; species of the Kalanchoe genus ( Kalanchoe ) of the Crassulaceae family ( Crassulaceae ). In the wild form is found in Madagascar . Popular flowering houseplant .

TitleThe species was described in 1934 by the German botanist and succulent collector Carl von Pöllnitz (1896–1945) in the article Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana in the Repertorium Specierum Novarum Regni Vegetabilis magazine published in Berlin (vol. 35: 159–160). The species is named after the German breeder. (1882-1945).
The synonymic of the species includes the name Kalanchoe globulifera var. coccinea H. Perrier (1928) [3] .
Biological description
Calanchoe Blossfeld, flowering plant
A plant with bare, numerous branches of less branching; in height and in diameter can grow up to 30 cm . The leaves are round, ovate, sometimes almost rectangular, crenate along the edge, green or dark green, sometimes with a red border around the edge [4] .
Flowers up to 1 cm in diameter, collected in the apical inflorescences - brush . The natural color of the corolla is dark red; for cultivars, the corolla may be pink, yellow or orange. Flowering time - from the beginning of winter to the beginning of summer [4] .

This species grows best in penumbra conditions, in well- drained soil. In the cold season, watering should be moderate. Reproduction - stem or leaf cuttings , as well as seeds . The plant is sensitive to cold. Frost resistance zones - from 10 to 12 [4] .
