Content
Biography
Mother - Peruvian, father - an American of Swedish descent, who died when his son was 7 years old. Early showed craving for literature, painting, music. He made his debut as a poet, playwright and artist in the mid-1940s, was awarded several national awards. In 1948 he came to Paris on scholarships of the French government, stayed in Europe, lived in France, Switzerland, eventually settled in Milan. As an artist, he participated in the Venice Biennale ( 1964 ), his exhibitions were held in major museums in the United States and other countries.
Creativity
In poetry he was influenced by Rimbaud , Rilke , Cesar Vallejo , Peruvian surrealists (E. von Westfalen, etc.), Breton , Pound . Experimented with visual poetry and sound poetry .

Recognition
In 2005, the Catholic University of Peru undertook the publication of a complete collection of poems and selected prose of the poet, accompanied by his painting and graphics.
