Vanity / Nemesis can be seen as a return to the roots compared to the band's previous album, Cold Lake . The album also includes a cover of David Bowie's hit “Heroes”. Unlike its first 3 albums before the Cold Lake era; this album shows how the band is moving in the direction of thrash metal. Vanity / Nemesis was Celtic Frost's last studio album before the band disbanded in 1993 and before they returned in 2006.
