Biography
He graduated from the music school named after Professor PS Stolyarsky at the Odessa Conservatory, then at the beginning of the military-conductor, and a few years later at the conducting and choir faculty of the Moscow State Conservatory. P. I. Tchaikovsky. Participant of the Great Patriotic War as part of the 139th anti-aircraft artillery regiment, conductor of the orchestra of the Second Baltic Front headquarters.
- 1948-1968 - conductor, chief conductor of the Moscow Operetta Theater ,
- 1968-1974 - Founder, Director and Principal Conductor of the Musical Theater in Krasnoyarsk-26,
- 1974-1984 - Director and Principal Conductor of the Kuibyshev Academic Opera and Ballet Theater . Here, for the first time in the USSR, the operas of L. Cherubini “Medea”, D. Verdi “Macbeth”, S. Slonimsky “Mary Stuart” were staged.
- 1984—2009 - Director and Principal Conductor of the B. Pokrovsky Chamber Music Theater . Together with the artistic director of the theater, Boris Alexandrovich Pokrovsky, they staged a wide variety of operas, including The Golden Calf by T. Khrennikov, Don Juan, or the Punished Corrupt by V. A. Mozart , Sorochinskaya Fair by M. Mussorgsky , Julius Caesar and Cleopatra ” G. F. Handel and others.
He was buried in Moscow at Vostryakovsky Jewish cemetery next to his mother Brukha Shmulevna Shpak (1901-1963). [2] .
