Crater Van Albada ( niderl. Van Albada ) - a lunar impact crater , formerly known as "Ozu A". In 1976, the International Astronomical Union gave the crater a new name, in honor of the Dutch astronomer Gale Bruno van Albada (1912-1972) [1] .

Location
The crater is located near the southeastern edge of the Sea of Crisis and northeast of the larger Crater Firmic Crater. It is in contact with the southeast border of the Ozu crater. Directly east of Van Albad Crater is the Krog Crater. In the south-east of the crater is the Sea of Waves , in the south-west - Lake of Perseverance [2] . The selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater are
Description
The diameter of this crater is about 23 km. It has an irregular round shape with a slight bulge in the northwest. In addition, a crater 12 km in diameter violates its eastern border and their total width (from east to west) is 30 km. The inner wall of the crater is slightly higher in the north, possibly due to the fact that it is there that it contacts the outer shaft of the Ozu crater. The soil inside the crater is darker than the outside: its albedo coincides with the albedo of the Sea of Crises in the northwest.
The crater has a very clear shaft, without terraces and collapses. The shaft height above the surrounding area is about 800 m [3] , the crater volume is about 270 km³ [3] . The bottom is uneven, but without slides and a central peak. The radiation system is also absent. No lava exits were noted. The crater is located on the mainland [4] . The crater depth is about 3.94 km [5] .
Satellite Craters
Are absent.
