Gaydamak - the multipurpose icebreaker of the Russian fleet and the Russian squadron . Built in 1898 for the Society of Nikolaev pilots. Was listed as a rescue-towing icebreaker and was assigned to the port of Nikolaev . From 1899 he worked in the Dnepro-Bugsky estuary . Due to the low profitability in 1901, he was sold to the Nikolaev trade port.

During the First World War, he remained in Nikolaev. He participated in escort from Nikolaev to Sevastopol of the battleship "Empress Maria" built in 1915. The winter of 1919-1920, together with the gunboats " Terets " and "Grozny" spent in the ice near Genichesky . In February 1920, a naval flag was raised on it and was incorporated into the Azov detachment (hereinafter referred to as the 2nd detachment of the Black Sea Fleet). After arming became listed as gunboat . He participated in the landing of troops in Kirillovka, the evacuation of the White Guard troops from the Caucasus, in the battle near the Spit . In September, he participated in the production of a minefield in the Belosaray and Dolgaya Spit area . In November, he was accompanied by the cruiser “ General Kornilov ” with the commander of the Russian army, General P.N. Wrangel, on board from Yalta to Feodosia . Subsequently, together with the cruiser "General Kornilov" from Feodosia went to Constantinople . After the formation of the Russian squadron in Constantinople, along with other icebreakers entered its 4th squad. On December 10, 1920, the Gaydamak, together with the second group of Russian ships, left Constantinople to Bizerte . He participated in the towing of destroyers of destroyers, for which he returned to Constantinople in mid-January 1921. According to unverified data in the 1930s, it was disassembled for metal in Bizerte.
