Mina was first shown at the international exhibition of technical means of defense and protection in Nizhny Tagil from 3 to 8 July 2001 .
Content
Application
The mine is set in the ground to a depth of about 60 cm from the top of the mine. The mines are controlled by the operator, for this purpose they use the wire control panel PU-404P or the radio control PU-404R. One console controls the work of 100 minutes. The control range of the wired remote is up to 4 km. radio control up to 10 km.
The mine is equipped with a combined target detector, including seismic , magnetic and thermal sensors . When intrusion of targets into the detection zone (radius of the zone is 150-250 meters), the target sensors inform the console, the console gives the operator recommendations on the advisability of undermining the min.
When a command is received from the control panel for an explosion, a squib trigger is triggered, resetting the masking layer of the soil and the cover of the mine. Then the rocket engine is launched, the cluster warhead rises to a height of 45-60 meters, after which submunitions in the amount of 40 pieces are ejected from the cassette, at a distance of 85-95 meters.

Legal side
Since the M-225 is actuated by the operator’s team, it can be counted as artillery . It does not fall under the jurisdiction of the Ottawa Convention and is not subject to the Protocol of the Second Geneva Convention .
