Their ancestor, Alexander Voytyakhovsky , the Vitebsk gentry , in 1655 took Russian citizenship and entered the Russian service. His son, Luke , was granted in 1662 by estates in the Belsky district of the Smolensk province . Luke's great-grandson, Efim Dimitrievich Voytyahovskiy , bayonet-junker artillery, teacher of mathematical sciences, author of textbooks of 1812-1822.

Emblem Description
The shield is perpendicularly divided into two fields: blue and red; two gold hexagonal stars are depicted in them and beneath them: on the right side there is a cross-shaped silver Saber, pointed down and a golden Arrow flying upwards. In the left part you can see the Silver Fortress, which is placed on the banks of the River, which flows horizontally, through which the Silver Bridge is signified.
On the shield noble crowned helmet. Crest: two black eagle Wings. The mark on the shield is red and blue, underlaid with gold and silver.
