Ivanskaya is a small street in the historical center of Veliky Novgorod . It is located on the Trade side , in the northern part of the Yaroslav's Courtyard . Passes from Bolshaya Moskovskaya to Palace Street .

It is named after the Church of St. John the Baptist located on it. In 1582–83 first mentioned as Ivanovo . It took a modern look during the redevelopment of Novgorod at the end of the 18th century.
In the XIX-XX centuries. It was also called the Forerunner (according to the church of the same name). In 1919, it was named Lunacharsky Street . January 1, 1946 renamed to st. Herzen . On September 12, 1991, the name Ivanskaya was returned.
On the south side of the street is the Church of St. John on the Flinders and the monument to V.I. Lenin. On the north, the historical buildings of the 18th-19th centuries have been preserved: the building of the Main Post Office, the former Governor's House (now the Rachmaninov Children's Music School).
