Juan Manuel Blanes Municipal Museum of Fine Arts ( Spanish: Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Juan Manuel Blanes ) is an art museum in Montevideo ( Uruguay ).

Museum and Collection
The museum was founded in 1930 and specializes in the history of art of Uruguay. Located in the Prado park of the capital of Uruguay at 4015 Avenida Millan.
The museum occupies the Palladio Villa, built by engineer Juan Alberto Capurro, commissioned by the Italian Consul Juan Bautisto Raffo in 1870. The best building materials were used in the decoration of the building, the columns and steps of the stairs are made of Carrara marble . Stairs are decorated with statues and decorative vases.
In 1929, the municipality purchased a villa from the Augusto Morales family to house a museum collection in it. In the same year, the architect Eugenio Baroffio reconstructed the building, in particular, two large exhibition halls with daylight of 8 by 25 meters in size, which are located symmetrically along the longitudinal axis of the building, were added. In 1975, the museum building was recognized as a national historical monument.
The basis of the collection is the work of Uruguayan artists , housed in several rooms, the largest of which are:
- The Hall of Juan Manuel Blanes, which houses a permanent exhibition of works by Juan Manuel Blanes (1830-1901).
- Pedro Figari Hall, which houses a permanent exhibition of the works of Pedro Figari (1861-1938)
The collection also features works by Carlos González, Carlos Alberto Castellanos, Pedro Blanes Viale, Rafael Barradas, Gilberto Bellini and Jose Cuneo.
The collection of contemporary art of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century is represented by the works of artists such as Joaquin Torres Garcia , Herman Cabrera, Juan Jose Nunez, Ernesto Vila, Liliana Porter, Luis Kamenitzer and Carlos Chaplan.
The museum’s collection also includes works by foreign masters - 2600 paintings, prints , drawings, other graphic works and more than 200 sculptures of various origins. European painting is represented by paintings by Gustave Courbet , Maurice de Vlaminck , Maurice Utrillo , Raul Dufy , Romero de Torres and other artists, graphics - original engravings by Albrecht Durer , Rembrandt , Pablo Picasso , Giovanni Batista Piranesi , Francisco Goya , Honore Daumaine , Honore Daumieu , Honore Daumieu , Batista Corot and other well-known charts from the XVI to the XX century.
In addition to the exhibition halls, the museum has a conference hall, a cafe, a bookstall and a shop. In front of the museum is the Japanese Garden , the only Japanese garden in Montevideo.
