The 1966 World Figure Skating Championships were held by the International Skating Union on February 22-27 in Davos ( Switzerland ). Competitions were held in the categories of women's single skating , men's single skating , pair skating and ice dancing . The United States representative Peggy Fleming became the world champion among women, the representative of Austria Emmerich Danzer won the men, the USSR representatives Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov won the couples, the British representatives Diana Tauler and Bernard Ford won the dances.
