Tourism in the Smolensk region is a branch of the economy of the Smolensk region .
The main attractions of the Smolensk region include: Smolensk State Museum Reserve , Smolensk Lake District , Khmelit Griboedov family museum reserve, Talashkino historical and art reserve, Katyn memorial complex, Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka Novospasskoye estate, Krasny Bor recreation area.
The number of professional theaters is 3, museums is 33, sanatorium organizations and recreation organizations are 20. [1] About 20 thousand tourists visit the Smolensk region annually. [2] The total number of visitors in 2011 is 221 thousand people. [3]

The annual tourist festival " Solovyov Ferry ", a historical reconstruction of the events of 1812, " The Battle of Lubino ", the film festival " Golden Phoenix " (since 2007), the All-Russian Music Festival named after M.I. Glinka (since 1957), youth festival "Potemkin Fun". At the Smolensk Ring automobile circuit, car body races take place.
