Tourism in the Tver region is divided into business, environmental , cultural and educational, weekend breaks, extreme types of water recreation, sailing .

Description

In the 1980s, the Tver region occupied the 2nd place in the RSFSR in the number of tourists, then there was a decline and, starting in 2000, the growth in the number of tourists resumed. At the beginning of 2011, there were 181 accommodation facilities, with more than 18,000 beds. Between 2007 and 2012, the flow of tourists increased from 980 thousand people a year to 1 million 380 people. [one]

In 2002, 14 cities received their “historical” status; 9 monasteries and 5 professional theaters operate.

  • sightseeing (26% of visits)
  • spa vacation and treatment (19% of the number of tourists)

Main Centers

There are 8 tourist clusters [2] :

  • Seliger cluster, which includes the system of Upper Volga lakes , the source of the Volga River .
  • the Karelian Trail cluster passes through Likhoslavl, Rameshkovsky, Spirovsky, Maksatikhinsky areas.
  • the Moscow Sea cluster, on the banks of which the Bolshoy Zavidovo , the Konakovo River Club is being built
  • Cluster "The Great Trinity", which includes Tver, Torzhok and Staritsa
  • Russian Venice cluster in Vyshny Volochyok, which includes the Vyshnevolotsk reservoir , Chaika cottage and Academic cottage
  • Bezhetsky Upper cluster with a center in Bezhetsk and Vesyegonsk
  • The Baltic Arrow cluster with centers in Rzhev and Toropets , which also includes the Central Forest Reserve and the Clean Forest biostation

The main cities are Tver , Torzhok , Staritsa , Vyshny Volochek , Rzhev and Toropets .

 
The source of the Volga

The region is part of the Golden Ring of Russia . The route is the Pushkin ring of the Upper Volga . [3]
