Biography

He was born on August 10, 1886 in the Novocherkassk Region of the Don Army. Orthodox. Cossack of the village of Novo-Nikolaevskaya Taganrog district of the Don Army . [one]

He graduated from the Don Cadet Corps , the Nikolaev Engineering School and two classes of the Imperial Military Academy.

From the Nikolaev school he was released as second lieutenant (06.15.1908) into the 2nd Caucasian combat engineer battalion. Later he served in the 12th sapper battalion, lieutenant (03.24.1910). At the end of the academy, by order of the General Staff No. 2 for 1914, he was seconded for testing to the headquarters of the Petersburg Military District .

During the First World War he was reckoned to the General Staff, staff captain (03.24.1914). Since April 1915, he was an assistant to the senior adjutant of the operational department of the 9th Army Quartermaster General. Lieutenant Colonel (08/15/1917).

At the end of 1917 he arrived in the Don, but did not have time to join the detachment of the ataman General P. Kh. Popov , who took part in the Steppe campaign on February 12, 1918 . Hiding in Novocherkassk , and then in the village of Zaplavskaya . Participated in the All-Don revolt.

On April 9, 1918, he arrived at the Ataman as part of a delegation from the village of Zaplavskaya and was appointed chief of staff of the Southern Group, Colonel Denisov. In January 1919, together with General Denisov, he participated in a meeting of the headquarters of the Volunteer and Don armies and sharply opposed the transfer of the unified command of both armies to General Denikin. On February 2, 1919, he handed over the post of chief of staff of the commander of the Don Army, as the Big Army Circle expressed no confidence in the command of the Don Army. During the Second World War he moved to Germany. In connection with the death of the Don ataman, Lieutenant General Count Grabbe - in July 1942, at the insistence of General Krasnov, the position of ataman was transferred without election to Lieutenant General G.V. Tatarkin . Before his death on November 12, 1947, General Tatarkin appointed General I. A. Polyakov as his successor, who took up the post of Don Ataman.
