In 2012, he took part in the London Summer Olympics . In the performances on the rings, he qualified from 4th place to the finals with a score of 15.616 points. On August 6, 2012, in the final of the competition with a score of 15,900 points, Arthur won and brought Brazil's first gold medal in gymnastics, becoming the first Olympic gymnastics champion from Latin America.
