History
1998–2008
For their debut season, the team acquired the newest at the time of the chassis of the Italian manufacturer Dallara F399. The Italian Fabio Babini was invited to pilot the car, who had already had experience playing in Russia behind the wheel of an Astrada car [1] - an experimental copy of Formula 3 with a carrier system made of a tubular frame . The second pilot of the team was an athlete from St. Petersburg Alexander Antonov, who had previously played two seasons in the Formula 3 class on a JAK-26 car [2] for the Rothmans ASPAS team. Already at the 4th stage of the Championship of Russia, Babini brought the team the first pole and the first gold, interrupting the winning streak of his compatriot Alberto Pedemonte (“ Lukoil Racing”).
In the 2000 season, Maurizio Mediani [3] was invited to replace Babini, and the team changed its name to ArtLine Engineering. The rivalry between Mediani and Pedemonte became the main intrigue of the Russian championship for several years [4] . Mediani brought the team 5 poles, 4 wins, and three times finished second, winning the title of vice-champion of Russia. Antonov, speaking on an older model Dallara F393, had a bad season. The team at the end of the season received a "bronze".
A year later, at the 3rd stage, Mediani headed the personal standings of the Russian Championship [5] and held the lead until the end of the season, ensuring the team the first champion title in the pilot standings. The composition was reinforced by the second Italian - 23-year-old Enrico Tokachello, and the technical park - another 99th “Dallaroy”. The result is a victory in all eight qualifications and in six races of the season, the second (after Lukoil) place in the teams' standings.
In 2002, the team focused on designing its own chassis, named ArtTech. Russian Formula 3, having failed to overcome the stagnation of recent years, went into a state of crisis [6] : one of the major participants, the Racing Club under the leadership of Sergei Zlobin , left the championship, and the number of cars at the start was reduced to six. "ArtLine" took part in 4 of 6 stages of the championship, scoring 3 wins [7] .
Since 2003, ArtLine has been moving into a fast-growing class, the national Formula 1600. The Dallara F393 chassis adapts to the Russian VAZ engine, boosted to 167 hp, and in the second half of the season ArtLine will take the lead in the championship. Alexander Tyuryumin and Nikolai the Great, ml. bring the team 4 wins, 4 poles, 5 best laps and rewrite the records of all Russian autodrome. For the first time in the history of the Russian “ring” pilots of one team have won three “doubles” (1 and 2 places) in a row. Tyuryumin becomes the champion of Russia in the individual competition, "ArtLine" - in the team [8] . In the Cup of Russia, the team wins with the highest possible result - 74 points.
In 2004, tests of the chassis of its own production - ArtTech. In parallel, the team puts 4 Italian cars at the start. 19-year-old Oleg Kazakov (Dallara F399) and Viktor Antonov (Dallara F393) act under the ArtLine brand itself, their senior comrades Viktor Shaitar and David Markozov support UNIT-ArtLine. The result turned out to be worse than possible because of the internal team struggle that played into the hands of competitors from Lukoil Racing [9] . Nevertheless, in the team and in the individual competition, ArtLine won the silver.
The following season, Shaitar moves to the ArtTech F1605 chassis, the second test-pilot of the development is Muscovite Daniel Move . The main part of Kazakov is replaced by Vitaly Petrov [10] , who brings victory in the individual championship of Russia. For the first time since the times of the USSR, one of the stages of the national championship is taking place in Estonia [11] , on the Pärnu-ring road. The team ends the season in 2nd place.
In 2006, ArtLine received two title sponsors - the Russian electronic concern Sitronics [12] and the Istok group of companies - a manufacturer of alcoholic beverages. Viktor Shaitar and Mikhail Kozlovsky (both on the ArtTech chassis) come out for Sitronics Racing, Ivan Samarin and Artem Barkhiyan stand for Istok ArtLine on Dallara F399, the latter is then replaced by A. Tyurumin. The test pilot of Sitronics is the experienced cart-driver Tatyana Chuvaeva [13] , becoming the first Russian pilot to appear in this capacity in advertising a commercial brand [14] . The season begins with the first victory of ArtTech at Myachkovo highway . "SOURCE ArtLine" wins the title of the vice-champion of the country in the team competition, "Sitronics" gets bronze. Samarin and Shaitar conquer at the end of the season 1 and 3 places.
2007 becomes the most productive year in the history of Russian performances of ArtLine. The team consisting of Samarin and Shaitar from the middle of the season moves to the chassis ArtTech F1607 [15] and wins the “gold” in the team, 1 and 2 places - in the personal offset of the Russian championship. At the race in Finland, Shaitar on ArtTech shows the best result among 26 rivals from both countries [16] .
The 2008 season is the last one spent by the team in Russia. Its main event was the Nordic Cup for the first time in the country [17] , which was launched at the start of 16 cars [18] from Russia and Finland. Shaitar on ArtTech showed the second result, losing to Russian Vladimir Semenov. In addition, a team consisting of Samarin and Shaitar performed and won the Russian Formula 3 Light series, part of the stages of which took place in Finland.
2009-2013
Since 2009, ArtLine has been transferred to the German series Deutsche Formel-3-ATS-Cup - the heiress (since 2003) of the German Championship in the Formula 3 class, one of the most prestigious formula championships in Europe. Since the ArtTech model, chosen by the team for the German Cup, was developed and built in 2004, the team, in accordance with the competition regulations, is included in the Trophy test, in which race cars produced before 2007 participate. However, already from the middle of the season, the first number of the team, the Ukrainian Sergey Chukanov, fights in the top ten of the absolute standings. The team is strengthened by the leader of the Finnish championship, Jesse Kron, and at stage 11 in Assen, the ArtTech race cars show 2 and 3 absolute results in qualifying [19] . For 5 (Chukanov) and 7 (Kroner) places at the finish, the team gets the first points in the absolute standings. In the Trophy standings, S. Chukanov is the undisputed leader throughout the season [20] , and wins by a margin of 43 points from the closest competitor - Finnish champion Mika Vahamäki [21] .
In 2010, ArtLine continues to dominate the standings Trophy, in parallel with the work on the modernization of the old chassis and the creation of a completely new model. The team puts up at the start 3 race cars run by German Ricardo Brutchina, Finn Alexi Tuukkanen and Russian Alexei Karachev. Brutchin finishes twice in the top ten (9th stage - Nürburgring , 14th stage - Lausitzring ); in Oschersleben , team champion of the World Series Renault Mikhail Aleshin is in favor of the team and takes 11th place. In the Trophy, ArtLine ends the season with silver and gold.
In 2011, the team once again prioritizes new development at the Moscow design bureau and misses a number of stages of the German championship. Mikhail Aleshin and Estonian Antti Rameau do not rise above 9th place; French pilot Tom Dillmann and Muscovite Ivan Samarin take part in separate races. The team is busy testing out technical solutions to be applied on the new chassis; The final result in the standings Trophy - from 3 to 6 place.
In 2013, ArtLine conducted successful prototype tests for the junior series "Formula Vostok" and in 2014 focuses on the production of new cars for Formula 3 and Formula 4 sports.
For the season 2014, tests of the new equipment in the racing mode are scheduled.
