Biography

Born in 1949 in Tel Aviv, Israel. He studied geography and English literature at Haifa University and later received a master's degree in political science, specializing in the Middle East .

From 1973 to 1975 he worked as a teacher of the Lyceum in the religious student village (Kfar HaNoar HaDati) in Kfar Hasidim, near Haifa. In 1975, he entered into diplomatic work and was appointed secretary for culture and public relations at the Israeli Embassy in Germany (Bonn), whose post he held until 1983.

From 1983 to 1986, he worked as the Head of the Cabinet of the Center for Political Studies and Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.

From 1986 to 1989, he worked as an adviser to the Israeli Embassy in Austria, and in 1989 he took up the post of press adviser at the Israeli Embassy in Great Britain (London), in whose status he took part in the 1991 Madrid Conference .

In 1992, after returning from London, he headed the Israeli programs for cooperation with the countries of Central Asia . He was later appointed Director of the Department of Education and the Second European Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.

From 1994 to 1996 he taught at the National Defense College of Israel. In 1997 to 2000, he served as Consul General of Israel in the Mid-Atlantic Region (with his stay in Philadelphia in the United States). In 2000, he was appointed Director of the European Multilateral Relations Division, as well as the coordinator of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (Euromed) in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From March 2005 to October 2009 he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Austria . His responsibilities also included representing Israel in the OSCE . From 2006 to 2009, he was part-time Israeli ambassador to Slovenia . In October 2008, he became the “man of the year” in the field of PR in Austria for the implementation of the project called “Tram Israel” during which the Austrians got acquainted with the culture of Israel. [2] In January 2009, in an interview with the Austrian weekly, Profil announced the entry of Hamas members into UN structures. [3]

Since November 2009 - political adviser to the Knesset .

On March 6, 2011, he was appointed Israeli Ambassador to Finland [4] and part-time in Estonia [5] [6] .
