The Sydney suffix was added to the name after World War I in honor of the Australian city ββof Sydney , which assisted in the restoration of Poincourt.
The commune is located approximately 145 km northeast of Paris , 60 km north of Chalons-en-Champagne , 60 km south-west of Charleville-Mezieres [1] .
