FBI special agents Mulder and Scully decide to start an investigation when three newspaper obituaries are received anonymously for three people who look like twins. All of them worked in abortion clinics and are not brothers. Nobody knew that while patrolling the Arctic waters, the US submarine found the alien transport and now the Alien hunter is at large and is killing. Mulder's world is turned upside down when his father calls him to urgently come home. There he finds a young woman - his sister Samantha, who was abducted by aliens 22 years ago. She tells Fox that they are being hunted by an alien and that her life is in danger. Scully is surprised when her partner calls her - because Mulder is standing right in front of her ...

Story

The episode begins "in the middle of the case": Mulder ( David Duchovny ) lies in the hospital compartment somewhere in the Arctic . As soon as the doctors begin to immerse him in a bath of water, Scully intervenes ( Gillian Anderson ), who claims that only cold can save her partner's life. Suddenly, the heartbeat disappears on Mulder's heart monitor ...

Two weeks earlier, in the Beaufort Sea, the crew of the ship noticed a light in the sky, which soon fell into the sea. The body that was pulled out of the water, as it turned out, belonged to an Alien Hunter . Two days later, Hunter arrives at an abortion clinic in Scranton, Pa., And kills the doctor by sticking a thin needle into the base of his neck, then sets the building on fire and disappears. Mulder receives a letter containing an obituary on the death of a doctor, with information on two similar deaths of doctors. After a conversation with an anti-abortion priest who threatened one of the doctors, Mulder discovers an ad in the newspaper with which one person searches for another in Syracuse ( New York ).

Mulder calls Weiss's agent and forces him to go to the house of one of the doctors, Aaron Baker. When Weiss arrives, he is caught by an Alien Hunter who kills Baker. Weiss throws himself at the colonist and shoots him, but Hunter’s green blood is poisoning Weiss. Arriving Mulder and Scully meet Weiss, who tells them that no one was at home. When the agents leave, it is discovered that the real Weiss is dead, and the Alien Hunter has taken on his appearance.

Walter Skinner, after reporting the death of Weiss, closes the file. Mulder and Scully find contact with another doctor, very similar to Aaron Baker - James Dickens. They meet with CIA agent Ambrose Chapel, who tells them that all the dead doctors are part of the Russian genetic experiment, codenamed "Gregor." Doctors, who were essentially clones, were killed by agreement between the US government and Russia . Mulder, Scully and Chapel go to Dickens' house, but when the doctor sees a CIA agent, he jumps out of the window and runs away. Trinity pursues a fugitive, and Chapel, who is actually an Alien hunter, kills Dickens in the alley. Scully resorts too late and does not see the murder, but draws attention to the strange traces around the remains of Dickens - a puddle of biting green slurry.

Scully asks Mulder about Chepel, but Mulder, in spite of everything, believes the tsrushnik. Dana performs an autopsy on Agent Weiss’s body and discovers that his blood has coagulated , and the number of red blood cells is incredibly high. Mulder, meanwhile, is urgently called home. At the address that Scully finds in a bag from the house of Dickens, there is a laboratory in which Chepel destroyed everything that was there.

Mulder arrives at his father's house, where he meets a woman who claims she is his sister Samantha. Samantha claims that she was returned at the age of nine, without memory, and she was able to recall the abduction only thanks to regressive hypnosis . She tells Mulder that both the Alien Hunter and the clones are in fact aliens, and until all the clones are dead, the Hunter will not stop. And he will come after her. Meanwhile, to escape from Agent Chapel, Scully goes to the hotel. Returning to the lab, she discovers four more clones that claim to be the last. She organizes their transportation to a safe place, but the Alien Hunter tracks Scully. Mulder knocks on her hotel room, Scully lets him in and after a moment the real Mulder calls her.
