In 2012, it was announced that the notes made by Williams in the margins of An Essay Towards the Reconciling of Differences Among Christians were deciphered. These texts contain rather bold thoughts, in particular, Williams states that the American Indians were baptized by force and by deception. In general, the main array of decrypted records is devoted to criticism of the sacrament of baptism . Williams also comments on contemporary medical and geographical works.
