Ballot paper
The referendum in Austria on the Anschluss with Germany was held on April 10, 1938 [1] along with a similar referendum in Germany. [2] It was carried out under tremendous pressure from Nazi Germany [3] , on the ballot papers the diameter of the “For” box was almost twice as large as “Against”. [one]
According to published results, 99.73% of the vote was cast for the merger with Germany [4] with a total turnout of 99.71%. [5]
