Brian P. Roman is an American astronomer, planetologist and discoverer of asteroids who works at the Palomar Observatory . In the period from 1988 to 1990, he discovered a total of about 11 asteroids, some of which were discovered jointly with Eleanor Helin [1] . He is also the pioneer of several short-period comets : 111P / Helin-Romana-Crockett, 117P / Helin-Romana-Alu and 132P / Helin-Romana-Alu .

In recognition of his merits, one of the asteroids was named after him (4575) Broman [2] .
