History
School number 739 of the Leningrad district of Moscow was opened on November 11, 1955 [1] . The school building is block and has 5 floors. The school was built according to the experimental project T2 [2] in record time - 72 days [3] .
Since 1955, a school theater has been operating. In 1960, a school pioneer camp was opened. Since 1974, volleyball classes have been working at the school - together with the nearby Olympic Reserve School No. 73. In 1985, the Museum of Military Glory of School No. 739 was awarded the title "School Museum" [3] .
In Soviet times, school number 739 was one of the few in Moscow where delegations from socialist and capitalist countries were allowed to drive [3] [4] .
School today
School number 739 is open full time. Learning English begins with grade 1 [5] . The school collaborates with the Moscow School of Art "Joy", together with which musical and aesthetic classes work [6] [1] . The teaching of the musical and aesthetic cycle subjects has been conducted since the first grade, and at the end of grade 9, a certificate of completion of the music school is issued [5] . The school organizes excursions, trips to theaters and museums [5] .
School number 739 is an experimental site for the program "Secondary school: scientific and methodological design of models of professional competence of class teachers in solving problems of improving the content of the educational process" [7] .
Since 2008, annually, as part of the celebration of Victory Day , the school hosts the «Victory Lilac’ campaign - lilac bushes are planted in the school yard, «courage lessons’ and a gala concert are held at the school [8] . The action is connected with the fact that the school was previously located near the lilac garden of the famous breeder Leonid Kolesnikov [9] .
In 2014, as a result of the merger of schools, it became part of school No. 1251 as building No. 2 [10] .
