Golshansky, Yanush Yuryevich

Yanush Yurievich Golshansky (c. 1505 - 1549 ) - statesman of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , Prince Dubrovitsky ( 1536 - 1549 ) and Golshansky ( 1536 - 1549 ), Horwala holder (1531), stolnik the great Lithuanian (1540-1542), governor of Kiev ( 1542 - 1544 ) and Trok ( 1544 - 1549 ), the holder of the Mogilev ( 1547 ). The eldest son of Prince Yuri Ivanovich Golshansky (d. 1536).

Biography

In 1530, Janusz Golšanski, commanding the Lithuanian army, defeated the Tatar army. As early as 1531, Janusz received the castle of Gorval and became the holder of the Gorval castle. In 1536, after the death of his father, Prince Yuri Ivanovich Golshansky , Yanush Golshansky inherited the Dubrovitsky and Golshansky principalities. In 1540 he was appointed the great Lithuanian captain. In 1542, Yanush Yurievich Golshansky was appointed governor of Kiev , and two years later he received the position of governor of Trok . In 1547 he received the Mogilev castle.

Yanush Yurievich Golshansky was married to Elizabeth (Elzbiet) Nikolaevna Radziwill, daughter of the governor of Vilnius and the great chancellor of Lithuania Nikolai Nikolayevich Radziwill (d. 1522 ) and Elzbieta Sakovich, from whom she had no children.

In 1549, after the death of Janusz Golshansky, he was succeeded by his younger brother Semyon (d. 1556).
