One hundred francs Merson (France)

This banknote belongs to a series of banknotes of polychrome design, issued by the Bank of France since the late nineteenth century. The banknote was issued from May 1908 to September 1939 and was withdrawn from circulation on June 4, 1945.

The authors of the banknote were the artist Luc-Olivier Merson, Romagnol and Friedrich Florian (1858-1926).

The dominant colors of the banknote are blue, yellow, orange and gray.

Obverse, all the decorative elements depicted on the banknote are located around the central stella. Two women: one symbolizes agriculture, and the other symbolizes trade. Near each woman is a child.

On the reverse, on the left, there is a blacksmith sitting on a hammer, and on the right side a woman and a girl symbolize happiness, depicted as a cornucopia with fruits.

Watermark of the head of Mercury and Ceres.

The dimensions of the banknote are 182 mm x 112 mm.
