Life and career

Marcia Karen Wallace was born in Iowa and moved to New York immediately after graduating from college to begin an actress's career in theater. She worked in several places to make ends meet, and in 1968 she was accepted into a well-known improvisational comedy troupe, after which she began to receive episodic roles in such TV series as “ My wife bewitched me ”, “ Brady Family ” and “ Colombo ”.

In 1972, Marcia Wallace got the role of Carol Coester in the comedy series “The Bob Newhart Show” [2] . The show was broadcast over six seasons and ended in 1978, and in the next few years the actress was a frequent guest on such shows as The Boat of Love , Fantasy Island , She Wrote Murder , and Alf . In 1986, she married the hotel’s manager, Dennis Holi, and soon a couple adopted a small child. Her husband died of pancreatic cancer in June 1992, and in 1985 the actress herself was sick with breast cancer, after which she became an activist and helper for patients with this disease [3] . After the death of her husband, Wallace faced financial problems, and in 1995, in addition to everything, her house completely burned down in a fire [2] .

Since 1990, Marcia Wallace has been voicing Edna Krabappl in the Simpsons animated sitcom. In 1992, she received an Emmy Award for her work on the show [4] . She was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Television Series for her role in the sitcom Murphy Brown in 1994, [4] and in recent years has been noticeable on the TV series Full House , Providence , and Seventh Heaven "and" Young and Bold .
